camp out!

We took out the Playhut from the closet today.

Judging by the look on Ronan’s face (and Loudon’s sleepy one!) – yeah, camp out was a big hit.

    Lots of fun!

We have been engaging in “Camp Outs” recently too. It went something like this…

First Sat Camp out: Dad put up tent; both boys and dad tried to watch a movie on the portable DVD player. It didn’t work. Everybody moved downstairs (mom had girls night out, yippie!) to watch the movie. After the movie, back upstairs. Everyone falls asleep.

Mom comes home approx. 10:00pm (short mom’s night out, we were all pooped) to dad snoring with the boys in tent. Aww how cute. Mom gets ready for bed. Dad soon comes in complaining that the floor was too hard and he couldn’t sleep (am I to suppose the snoring was fake?). Child #2 starts crying. He wants to sleep in his bed. Child #1 starts crying where’s daddy? Mom has to settle everyone down. Doesn’t work. 15 mins later, Campout is moved to mom and dad’s bed.

Would you believe this went on for about two more Saturday’s until everyone finally gave up? Dad tried using an air matress under the tent. Didn’t work for him. Rats. Mom was looking forward to a night with the bed to herself.

    No more camping. 😀

We’re going camping “for real” in May and my little one is SO EXCITED!!!! He wants to practice sleeping in his sleeping bag, eating outside, etc. We’re hoping for the best out “in the wild” 🙂

That is classic, Fashion! I can relate! Moms NEVER get enough time for themselves. Kudos to you for even attempting a GNO. I need one desperately.
The Loudon fell asleep in his “tent” in the living room last night. We moved him to his bed a little while later. At 6 am, I hear a shrill scream! I thought The Vominator was back, because this is his M.O., but no, he was just royally pained to not be sleeping in the tent! Now I have to set it up in his room! lol
    What we Moms do!

Too cute Lookingforlife! I bet he will LOVE the camping : )
Be careful of those bears, though! Bring your pepper spray! And have fun!
